Special Award Proposed for Second Health Filmfest

Iran’s stroke society will offer a special prize to movies with themes relating to brain stroke.

In a meeting with the festival staff, head of the society, Babak Zamani said the best movie would both receive the award by the society and would be screened for neurosurgeons and specialists nationwide, in a seminar scheduled to be held in March 2018.

The stroke society also proposed to hold a competition in the future for production of documentaries and short films, on the subject of brain stroke.

Zamani further said due to the growing instances of brain stroke and Alzheimer’s disease, it is crucial to provide the public with relevant information, to enhance patient-doctor interaction efficiency.

In the meeting, head of the festival jurors, Mohammad Kiasalar, noted that one of the goals of the filmfest is to enhance the levels of interaction among cinema people and physicians.

The National Health Filmfest aims at collecting brilliant ideas by inviting committed cinema artists whose concern is healthy life for people. The second edition of the festival will be held August 23-27, 2017 in Tehran.
